KOREKIYO SHINGUJI;
BLESSEDMEMORIAE

IN GAME
Korekiyo Shinguji is known as the Ultimate Anthropologist, a title he’s earned by his amount of knowledge and experience. He’s 6'2", with green eyes and black hair. He wears a black mask with a zipper, which normally obscures most of his face, but he does wear makeup.
Personality-wise, Korekiyo is particular about what he says, but does know a lot. He admires the spirit of humanity greatly, as his area of study. Korekiyo has a dry sense of humor, and can be very persnickety. However, he’s also genuinely intuitive about other people, often able to guess their motivations and act accordingly.
Korekiyo was raised virtually entirely by his sister, Miyadera, who was several years older than him. Sickly, she often kept Korekiyo as her companion, and emotionally abused/manipulated him to keep him by her side. Many of his oddities, such as his picky attitude towards women and lack of knowledge of pop culture, are because of this.
Starting from age 13, Miyadera began sexually abusing Korekiyo, telling him that it was love and only natural, which he came to believe, not knowing any better. Miyadera’s health continued to deteriorate until her death, which left Korekiyo alone and feeling guilty. He traveled the world, but this did nothing to aid his mental health, and he began to form a tulpa (alternate personality) of his sister. Sister (the tulpa form of Miyadera) is ruthless and suave, formed mostly from Korekiyo’s memories of Miyadera. Sister often appears when Korekiyo is upset and unable to handle it emotionally.
At Sister’s behest, Korekiyo began killing women so that she could have 99 friends in the afterlife. Korekiyo does it out of love, but does not particularly enjoy killing itself.
PRE-GAME
Korekiyo Shinguji is an ordinary high school student, albeit unusually tall and somewhat intimidating. He’s naturally kind, although quiet, and his favorite subject is English literature.
Unlike his in-game self, he has a normal, loving bond with the still living Miyadera, who reciprocates. However, her health is still poor, and the medicine is expensive, which eventually leads to Korekiyo volunteering for Danganronpa to protect her. He doesn’t like Danganronpa or believe it’s right, but he can’t stand the thought of losing his only family.
VR POST-GAME
After Danganronpa, Korekiyo struggles between reality and all that he knows. Miyadera doesn’t harbor any ill intent towards him, and he doesn’t want to feel those things anymore, but they are fairly ingrained into him. Sister is still present in his mind, but he fears her as much as anything.
